4 Software Simulation Examples That Show You What’s Possible in Storyline

Software simulations allow learners to work with new software in a low-pressure environment. Safely contained within your e-learning course, there’s no “messing up” your software simulations: learners can’t switch off an important process or accidentally post a private document. They’re able to build confidence working in the tool so that when it’s time to use it IRL, they know just what to do.

Storyline makes it really easy to build screencasts and interactive software simulations. Here are four examples to show you what’s possible.

  1. Richard Watson places learners in a virtual classroom where they see step by step how to add triggers in Storyline.
  2. Nicole Legault demonstrates the value of using interactive software simulations instead of simpler process interactions in her example.
  3. David Anderson showed how interactive screenshots can be used as a balance between screencasts and simulations.
  4. Nicole Legault shows learners how to navigate the E-Learning Heroes hub in this software simulation.

  • DavidAnderson In example 3 it mentions "plus a checklist to show learners what they’ve done and what’s left to do". Where is this checklist shown in the course? I have review the example and did not see the checklist feature.

Hi MollieJamison-7 Interesting. That's not the correct description. Not sure what happened but I'll update it for accuracy. There isn't a checklist in that example.
