I am trying Articulate 360 Free Trial on my Mac Pro laptop, but I am with everyone else on this board...why do we have to jump through hoops to use this software on a Mac? I do not want to purchase any extras in order to use Articulate. Does VMware cost? I believe Parallels does cost. HELP!
- AndrewOm6 years agoCommunity MemberHello Brooke,
Yes, VMware also costs extra.
I am in the same boat. It would be much easier if the main software ran natively on Mac. If you are on the fence about purchasing 360, I'd highly recommend taking into account that you may need extra software (Parallels + Windows which are added costs) in order to run Articulate 360. Other content creation software support Mac natively and if you want to delving into VR training, Articulate may not be the best route. But, Articulate Storyline is pretty easy to use. There are trade-offs.
Anyway, the most common methods to run Windows on Mac are Parallels (cost) or Boot Camp (free). You will still need to purchase a copy of Windows in order to run it on your MacBook Pro with either option. This link outlines the pros and cons of Parallels vs Boot Camp fairly well.

Hope that helps!- JeremyLeFevre5 years agoCommunity MemberThank you for your helpful comment :-)
- RayOdgers5 years agoCommunity Memberyou have to jump through hoops because instead of choosing a laptop compatible with 100% of the apps you chose 1 thats only 27% compatible. Mac is not a cost-effective platform for running VMware player and many others
- JeremyLeFevre5 years agoCommunity MemberWith respect Ray, the laptop I choose has given me 97% comparability with my imagination and intuition for creative expression over the last 12 years. I'm delighted to have come across an exception. This is the first time in a long time that I need to be using Windows and I'm looking forward to the experience. Who knows, I might end up having a different opinion by exploring through interaction. How about you, Ray?
