Reporting, responsive design and community support are also important considerations missing from this article.
You need to consider how you want to report on student activity. While Articulate is SCORM compliant and can export to Tincan API, there is a real issue with how this information appears and is reported on. Lectora allows easy and intuitive reporting to google sheets and the ability to adjust what is reported on. The reports generated by the information exported by Articulate is difficult to extrapolate/manipulate. It is really difficult to diagnose and track learner behaviour within an Articulate exported course, unless, perhaps, you use the Articulate LMS that is uncommon in most edu institutions (cost prohibitive).
The ability to tweak how courses look on different devices and screens is a missing feature that again is much better handled by Lectora. With mobile learning a significant trend there is a high chance that courses produced in Storyline might look great on a big computer screen, but stuggle to be useful on a mobile.
A huge benefit of Articulate is its community forums. These open and transparent forums are a real benefit when using/overcoming difficulties with the software. In my opinion this is a super important feature with Articulate as well as its compartive ease of use.
Let's hope that the two rather critical features that are lacking in Storyline 2 appear in the new version when it is released. Overall Articulate is a great piece of software and its intuitive interface allows interactive courses to be build quickly with limited training needed for staff.
