Rise 360: Comics-Inspired Empathy Training
Comics blend images and text together to grab people’s attention and make stories come alive. And the growing popularity of nonfiction comics makes it clear that this medium can lead to compelling learning experiences too. But why not go one step further and enhance the experience with interactivity?
In this example, learners strengthen their empathy by exploring how different members of a remote team respond to being asked to return to the office. By choosing comics-style stock illustrations and arranging them into panel-like blocks, creator Tracy Carroll designed a mobile-friendly, scrolling comic similar to what you would find on Webtoon. And thanks to the Rise 360 Labeled Graphics block, she took it to the next level by making the speech and text bubbles interactive.

- TamaraStatonCommunity MemberI love how you vary up the colors in the training, with big bold blocks of blue in the middle of the page, for example. Also love how you used the labeled graphics for both quotes and explanations. Never thought to break up an image like you did to essentially add 4 images. Nice work!

- TracyCarrollCommunity MemberThanks, Pamela! I have a Freepik premium subscription, and I downloaded the vector images from there. I edited them using Illustrator and/or PowerPoint, depending on the changes I was making.
