Thanks to the prebuilt variables available in the new slide numbers feature in Storyline 360, it’s easier than ever to create a personalized progress meter. Take a peek at this example to see one way to do that.

Head on over to this article to learn more ways to use this cool new feature and to this tutorial to see how I made this progress meter, step-by-step.

  • hi! This is wonderful! I'm brand new to Articulate (trying it out to test over Captivate) and I got this to almost work on my first try, but the actual slide color isn't moving in with the course progress. I'm getting the % but the bar is not moving in to show the color progress. Any ideas on what I missed?
  • Hi Alison, I'm trying to follow your guide on this (thanks for sharing!), I have it mostly set up but I'm finding it gets hidden behind some graphics on some slides. Do you copy/paste this to all slide layouts in the master view to counteract this? Also I can't get the percentage hover trick to work. It just stays where I originally positioned it, is it supposed to move with the progress bar and just appear when someone hovers? Thanks!

I put it on the parent master slide (the top one). You may need to check the "hide background graphics" box for certain layouts and then put those graphic elements directly on the slide.

For the percentage hover, you'll notice that the text appears in the same spot in my example as well. It only appears when someone hovers.
