- CarlaKelley-GonCommunity MemberHi Kaycie,
I love this as an alternative to the matching template in content library! I have altered it though to include 6 items instead of 3 but what I can't figure out is where the line is that is generated when you click and drag. I need to change the color of the 3 new ones to match like the others do.- Hi Carla!
The lines are created using states. To access them, click on the rectangles on the left and open the states panel. From there, you can make any necessary edits (see screenshot: https://sharing.articulate.team/rRukPKdk )
- RickKristensen-Community MemberGreat idea, Allison. Thank you for sharing this.
- You're welcome!
- ShumonIslamCommunity MemberAlison, this is amazing. this is my first official storyline project and I really loved it. It worked the moment I downloaded and opened into my storyline 360. While it's built for matching, I also made it a question for step-by-step instructions. Ex: three steps of changing a flat tire (Step 1: lightly loosen the lug nuts, Step 2: Place a Jack under the car, (3) Step 3: completely loosen the lug nuts and remove the lug nuts. ) Learners can click and match each step with its corresponding definitions. Now. I will try to add more step. Alison, thank you for being so generous.
- Great idea! I love that you were able to tweak it and use it for another purpose. :) Thanks for sharing.
- Hi Daymon,
To get the drag items to snap back to their original location when dropped outside a drop target, you can simply check that option in the drag-and-drop options window. Learn more about these options here: https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-360/articles/articulate-storyline-360-user-guide-how-to-create-freeform-drag-and-drop-questions#step3
Easy peasy! :) - KaycieRocheCommunity MemberHi Allison! I have all of my content set up in this template but I can't seem to figure out how to make the terms say correct or incorrect on the appropriate definitions.
- Hi Kaycie,
You need to open up Form View and match the correct items on the left with the correct items on the right (see screenshot: https://sharing.articulate.team/nOuDAx8X). From there it should work automatically! Let me know if it's still not working for you after you've done that. - NancyHemenway-eCommunity MemberIs this template 508 compliant? I need a matching template that is not drop and drag and is 508 compliant -- any ideas?
- Hi Nancy,
You're right -- drag and drops like this one are not 508 compliant. Have you thought about using a multiple-choice question instead?
- CarlaKelley-GonCommunity MemberAllison,
I just realized this is your creation! I found out the connector lines were a part of the state on the column! But now that I have this all configured, I'm wondering how I can submit this and provide feedback and include the item in the score?- Glad you got it all figured out :) If you want to provide feedback, simply add feedback to the correct and incorrect layers (they're currently blank). To submit, simply add the submit button back on to the slide via the slide properties.
- sorayahumphriesCommunity MemberI'm unable to open this project, error message says: "this project won't open because it uses features that aren't available in this version of Storyline. The features in use are: expanded quiz tracking & track multiple completion criteria." Dumb question, what version should I be using? I will need to alert my IT department. Thanks.
- Hi Soraya!
It sounds to me like you're likely using Storyline 3. I created this using Storyline 360, so that's probably why you're seeing that error!
- sorayahumphriesCommunity MemberThanks so much Allison for responding. When I look at my Articulate screen it says I am on 360 and Storyline360. I will share the error message with my IT team as I would love to see how you did this. So creative. Thanks.
- Hmmm... that's weird! I would make sure you've updated and are running the latest version in that case.
- ChristopherC783Community MemberHi Allison,
This is a great option! I'm very new to Storyline and trying to understand how to add more options. Could you provide a high-level overview?
Thanks!- Hi Christophe,
Sure thing! You'd need to:
- Duplicate the rectangles and circles
- Update the states so that the lines go to the right places
- Update the correct answers in Form View
