- MichelleSchr546Community MemberHi Sarah,
I agree with everyone else, this game is awesome! I can't wait to include it in our new hire curriculum.
I'm having a problem with the bonus question. When I click in the text box to type in the answer I get a small pop up showing the first correct answer I have on the form view. How can I prevent that from happening?- SarahHodgeFormer StaffHi Michelle! Sorry for the late reply! Did you type in the answer previously and replay the course? If so, it sounds like it might be the autofill which is based on browser settings and cannot be adjusted within Storyline 360. This discussion has some tips that might help: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/auto-complete-text-entry-89a0ef64-1706-4d0c-8b16-46dd3ba9382e#reply-663644
- JohnMorley-a8f1Community MemberAs so many comments indicate, great work on this. I intend to use this as an example in a workshop and deconstruct how it is created. I am stuck on one of your triggers:
Change state of
Rectangle 4 - "Correct"
to Correct
When the state of all of
Rectangle 3
Rectangle 5
is Visited
When playing the game, clicking any answer seems to trigger either the correct or incorrect layer and take the question out of play, making it impossible to change the state of more than one rectangle to Visited. And in any case, clicking Correct seems to preclude doing anything else on the slide, and takes the question out of further play. Furthermore, why would choosing both incorrect answers (even is that was possible) add up to a correct answer?
Please help me to understand what I am missing.- SarahHodgeFormer StaffThanks, John! And nice catch on that trigger! The way it's set now, it doesn't do anything. Sorry for the confusion! I realized that trigger was meant to be set to "when the state of at least one of" so that the correct answer was also revealed if the learner got the question wrong. Here's a screenshot of what that trigger should look like and the reveal when I select the incorrect answer.

I updated the story file above to reflect that change. If you don't want the correct answer to be revealed along with the incorrect selection, you can delete that trigger. I hope that clears it all up. 🙂- JohnMorley-a8f1Community MemberSarah, Thanks for the courtesy of your reply. I understand the revision, and agree that it’s good instructional design to take advantage of a teachable moment to provide a correct answer right when the learner is wondering, “So what is it?”
As I mentioned in my earlier message, I would like to use your piece as an example in a workshop. Please reply with your permission to do so. It is through the San Diego chapter of ATD.
For these monthly workshops, I try to have a guest presenter. I understand that you are employed by Articulate, which may influence your being able to accept an invite to be a guest presenter. Please let me know it that would be of interest to you, or even possible given your association with Articulate.
We have already had as guest presenters eLearning challenge entrants Samuel Apata and Jodi Sansone.
I look forward to hearing from you.
- VeerleVanspauweCommunity MemberHi Sarah,
This template is amazing, thank you for sharing!
I'm considering doing something similar to transform a formal end-of-course assessment into something more fun. I would want to use question pools though, so the learner is presented with different questions if they have to retake it. How would you go about introducing question pools into this template?
Thank you! - PamelaReese-51cCommunity MemberI found them in the slide master and was able to export them and then add back into my course. Thanks!
- PamelaReese-51cCommunity MemberHi Sarah.
Awesome job on this. I know that my new hires will have a ball with this.
I copied and pasted it over to my course and was able to get most of the colors changed to my organization's approved colors. The only issue I am having is with those sound effects. They play during most of the categories but there is silence during others. Even on the categories that are playing sound, I can't seem to find where you have hidden the file. It's not on the timeline or layers, so I can't replicate it in the other categories. Where are the sound files? Thanks!- FrancesJones-42Community MemberHi Pamela - the sound effect comes from the question slide that follows once you have chosen a button in one of the categories. The audio file for that is on the slide master for the blank layout. Hope that makes sense. However, they all seem to play the sound when I review it.
- BarbaraModlinCommunity MemberHi Sarah,
I really like your Jeopardy game. I changed the background colour in Master view, however when I play the file I can see my changed colour but I then see the purple background around the changed slide colour. Would you be able to share how to change this purple colour?- SarahHodgeFormer StaffThanks, Barbara! You'll need to edit the Player background color as well. Here's an article with more info. Let me know if you have any other questions.

- HannahJoyce-72eCommunity MemberHi Sarah, thanks a mil for this its amazing. Is there anyway we can log or track Peoples' results? We use Litmos SAP if thats any help! Kind regards,
Hannah- SarahHodgeFormer StaffHi Hannah! Great question! I didn't realize I made this without making the last slide a Results slide so you can have it report to an LMS. I just edited the story file. The last slide is now a Results slide. You'll need to download the file again (you should see a v2 at the end of the file name). Then, you can edit the Results slide for your needs. Hope that helps! 🙂
- FrancesJones-42Community MemberBrilliant, thank you.
- UgurGumus-c9165Community MemberThank you so much Sarah for this great share.
- KrystalLeitn450Community MemberThank you so much for sharing this - it's a wonderful resource! Do you have any tips for quickly changing the colors to align with company colors? I saw there are a lot of shapes and wasn't sure the best way to do this.
- SarahHodgeFormer StaffThanks for the kind words, Krystal! I designed this game using a jeopardy-inspired color theme with gradients so it might be a bit different to customize than my usual templates. The fastest method I can think of is to:
-Create your own branded color theme.
-Customize one shape/category box on the main slide to be the exact design you want (this includes customizing the states – hover and disabled).
-Select that shape, click the Home tab, then double-click Format Painter. Double-clicking is super important so you don’t have to click it every time you want to copy formatting over
-Click each shape/category box on that main slide once, and it will copy over all the formatting.
You can also use this same technique on all the question slides. And the great thing is, by double-clicking Format Painter, you can easily navigate to the different question slides and continue to copy over formatting without having to click Format Painter again. Just make sure you copy incorrect buttons over to incorrect buttons and correct buttons to correct buttons since those have different states. You may also want to edit the background colors or other elements as needed. I hope that helps!
