Audio Interview with transcript: http://goo.gl/dzhtE3
- Maija_Perfiljev9 years agoCommunity MemberHi Tracy. Interesting answers and I can support your comment about "Instructional Design" being a mystery until certain time. I think I got an idea about it around 2010-2011 as well.
Out of curiosity - what tools did you use to create e-learning before Articulate/Adobe/Etc? Were these HTML-based courses? I'm curious because we did hear about "computer assisted learning" in the University (I first studied in late 90-ies, early 2000 in Latvia, where computers were still a big wonder at that time), but it was presented as some sort of Matrix-Unicorn-Fairy Tale.- TracyCarroll9 years agoCommunity MemberHi Maija,
At first I was completely on my own, working at a school with no online resources at all. I started using Microsoft's FrontPage to create websites, then switched to Dreamweaver. So I would create a website for each class, then I used PowerPoint & YouTube videos to create presentations. I also used class Wikis, then Google Docs, and various different Learning Management Systems, like PowerSchool, depending upon the school's resources.

- TracyCarroll9 years agoCommunity MemberFor the self-interview I used my Logitech headset.
Because of the hellish heat in L.A. this week, I also had a couple of fans on, creating a swirling vortex of semi-cooled air so I that I wouldn't faint.
Not the ideal set-up, by any stretch of the imagination! :)
- PunamParab9 years agoCommunity MemberI really enjoyed your interview a lot, Tracy. I can very well relate with some of the points you have mentioned. For example, I too was quite critical of my portfolio and that meant I took a long time to create a portfolio.
