That was awesome! Loved the part where you came out and looked about - looking for focus! Great work, Alex.

And, I loved the way you made the video slightly transparent on the white background, and had the text rise up through the horizon and into the sky. At least I think that's how you did that. Really good stuff.
- BrunoDethune9 years agoCommunity MemberWhat's your magic trick for making a video "transparant"?
- EJLeBlanc9 years agoCommunity MemberEdit with an Alpha Channel in Premiere Pro and export. Import into Articulate Storyline from there.
- AlexanderSalas9 years agoCommunity MemberHi Bruno,
For the "Alone" video there was not transparency. However, for the video where I appear, I shot it in green screen and removed the background with the "ultra key" effect in Premiere PRO. I blogged about a similar process with the "color key" effect here: https://stylelearn.com/removing-video-background-for-elearning/ - EJLeBlanc9 years agoCommunity MemberOne more thing I just remembered. You can "trick" storyline by having a series of videos fading in and out (using animation settings), and adjusting the time it takes for those videos to fade in and out. Using the cropping video tool you can line up the same video to where certain parts of it are solid and normal while others are fading in.
Don't know why that capability doesn't translate into a transparency tool directly in Storyline, but it doesn't.
- AlexanderSalas9 years agoCommunity MemberThank you EJ, so the trick with the "Alone" video is text created in PowerPoint, saved as an image, and then I apply the "blur" and 3D effects in PowerPoint again. You can get the same effect with Photoshop or AE, but I use this method when I want a quick fix.
- EJLeBlanc9 years agoCommunity MemberAh! Outstanding. Saves some time that way, too. Looks fantastic!
