Late to the show, but I have a fun window into decisions I make every morning. My CYOA is "The Case of the Crying Cat," featuring my cat, Calypso, and original "mew-sic" by yours truly. (When you can't find just the right royalty-free tune, you get creative.) The story map is available from the top right of the player.

Oops, I accidentally hit report instead of the reply...so sorry!
I really like your branching map. It's so complex! This was a new task for me to take on, I see we all do it slightly differently.

I had four different scenarios that were fairly complex, and four different sets of SMEs reviewing them. After trying a few things, drafting the text and decision map in a Visio flowchart and providing PDFs of the maps to the SMEs ended up being the right thing for that situation. There are so many great tools out there. I like what you did with your whiteboard. I've got to get one of those for my home office!
- JessieBernal-f84 years agoCommunity MemberInteresting, what program did you use to do your map in?
I understand how complicated it can get with that many SMEs. One thing I've been coached on last year is less is more. I used to get into a lot of the ID details in my SME meetings, but now I leave most of that discussion out and just keep to content talk or show them prototypes. =)- JenniferPetr6194 years agoCommunity MemberI did the story map in Visio, then saved to PDF. That project was a little odd. The overall goal was to get learners to use several different integrated tools to improve quality in product life cycle. The customer identified four main tools to illustrate with scenarios, and they had four different experts on those individual tools, with one overall project SME. So while I had four sets of SMEs, I only interviewed and reviewed with them one group at a time. For my own sanity, I had to use find one method that worked for all of the groups. The project SME (and his manager) had ultimate approval.
I've found a good prototype can really get SMEs focused on the task at hand. They can't always seem to wrap their minds around it unless I show them.
