My challenge is to create a branching scenario game.
I've created an experimental Storyline project where the player gets to create their own video game company and hire a development team. The game that you ultimately create will change depending on the development team members that you choose, so choose wisely and play with different combinations to get different outcomes!

Totally dig this Ben! Awesome and informative! I'm guessing some of Jen's experiences are influenced by yours? What did you think of Papers, please! I am about to buy it, I've heard good things.

Papers, Please is a brilliant game; I'd highly recommend giving it a try. What's unique about it is how it presents the player with moral dilemmas for which there is no clear answer. As a passport checker in a dystopian country, you try to strike an impossible balance of making enough money to take care of your family while "doing the right thing" too. I'd say more, but I don't want to take anything away from the experience. If you get a chance to play it, let me know how it goes, yeah?- I'm definitely getting it (it's next on my list after I finish the Game of Thrones game... yes, I know, hardly indie :) so I will let you know what I think.
I watched an interview of the guy from Branch Track and he recommended papers please for elearning people who want to develop better scenarios. He also recommended Firewatch, which looks amazing. I bought it on Steam already, but have not started playing yet.
And, we just bought an indie game called Soul Gambler; know nothing about it other than it has good reviews and is story-driven too. It's based on Faust, but in the modern world. Looks interesting and was discounted on Steam from $4 down to a buck or so... have not played it yet.
I am very keen to hear more recommendations on interesting indie games if you have any :)
