@ Jeff: You are indeed perfect and I'll certainly change that score on your permanent record. Since I know precious little about typography I referred to 5 different sources and found conflicting terms and definitions throughout, so I finally gave up and just did my best. Thanks for letting me know and I'll see what I can do to correct it. :)
@Dianne: Thank you! I'm so glad you like it. You have enormous flexibility in your style too, you know! SL2 is a lot of fun. You'll like it - and of course you can try it out for free. Running it on the same computer as SL1 is no problem. You just need to add that 8th day on to your week so you have time!
@David & @Nick: Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it too. :)
As I was brainstorming I knew I wanted to take advantage of the new motion paths - which is part of what brought me to the idea of movement with music and dance.
What would help me a whoooole bunch with motion paths would be to get info about the finer points of using them. The most obvious thing I don't know how to do is move the targeted end to the exact point I'd like. I couldn't do it using the Format > Size > Position horizontal/vertical tools so I settled for a rough approximation of where I wanted it using the mouse and/or arrow keys, then fading that image out after it arrived at the approximate location and creating another image to fade into the exact position I wanted - specifically for the letters flying up to the progress bar.
That part of the design is actually left over from one of my first mock-ups where it was more important that the exact position of the letters be focused at the starting point - otherwise I'd have simply positioned them properly in the progress bar and reversed the path animation rather design this workaround. (And if I hadn't just spent 2 days making 20 versions of this, I'd change it - but at some point you have to stop!)
Nonetheless - that's my question. How can you accurately control the exact-to-the-pixel (not to 2 pixels but to 1 pixel) images at both ends of the motion path?
Oh - and though it didn't end up in the final design, I loved being able to trigger another action once an animation completes! Works like a charm. :)
