Continuing with the animal theme that seems popular this week (you can never have too many animals). Mine is just a few examples of different animations to draw attention, not a cohesive course. Enjoy!

Who doesn't love a napping seal? Can you describe how you made the pulsing button on that slide? Loved it.

Off the slide I have a circle with two motion paths (Down and Up). I set up a number variable (Glow) to add 1 each time the Down motion path completes. The change in variable then triggers the "Glow" layer appear.
The Glow layer has the exact same icon but with a custom shadow effect applied to it. I have that layer set to hide when the timeline ends (I adjusted the timeline and the motion paths to my liking). I also added a fade in and face out effect on the glowing icon so that it was a little more of a smooth transition.
It's very possible that I over-complicated it a bit but I've used this method a few times and I really like it. I can't take credit for it though, I found a YouTube video walking through these steps ages ago. I've never found it again but it was extremely helpful. Let me know if you have any questions!- That is an interesting approach. I've been trying to come up with a way of timing somethings in some of my projects and having some event off-screen control would have never crossed my mind. I've been doing something slightly similar by having on screen events based on when a Media (audio effect, etc) has completed.
- I'm a big fan of using animated objects 'off screen' to power and synchronise animations too Carrie. Lately, I've found it a bit easier and quicker to achieve this with a jump to time trigger in a layer. Both work really well and you've used the technique to hear effect here.
- Thank you. I think I follow you. Sometimes I create these insanely complicated things that only make sense to my brain. Then I attend one of the Articulate Live Training sessions and David and Tom demo a simple instruction I never thought of!
