Hi
One of the ways Gagne made an impact on me is through his statement about learning different things:
Prior to Robert Gagné, learning was often thought of as a single, uniform process. There was little or no distinction made between “learning to load a rifle and learning to solve a complex mathematical problem”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instructional_designI still hear a lot of people talking about 'learning as a single uniform process'. In this blog
http://whatyouneedtoknow.co.uk/objectives-chasing-tail-next-big-thing/ I explain why I think objectives are important as a way to identify where the learning will take place - skill - knowledge - attitude or awareness. I know Gagne saw the answer more in different learning strategies.
Thanks Dianne for you post.
