Pre-Boarding with ClickFirst
Demo: https://jodisdemos.s3.amazonaws.com/389+ClickFirst+OnBoarding/index.html#/
This challenge seemed like a good job for RISE. When I worked in the corporate world one issue we had with new hires is how to keep their interest between the day they accepted an offer and their first day. Sometimes 90 days would pass before they would start. We used to implement a communication plan to keep them engaged. My demo is a pre-boarding communication to get a new hire ready for their start date, with instructions on how to get their pre-employment paperwork out of the way and give them an idea of what to expect when they show up their first week. This lucky new hire is starting a job at an award-winning, hip ad agency. It includes every hip agency values and team cliche I could think of, plus my favorite hipster ipsum. Have a great week!

- maren_west2 years agoCommunity MemberHi Jodi! I really like this idea of communicating with new hires and keeping them engaged before they start. However, the one thing that came to mind was compensation, were new hires compensated for the time they spent taking the course?
- JodiSansone2 years agoCommunity MemberHi Maren,
No, we didn't compensate them because they weren't officially on board yet. We used SL to develop quick-hit communication pieces as part of a broader communication plan. I used to call them "love notes"--just quick messages to let them know they were on our mind. I'd be glad to chat with you separately about some of the things we did if you are creating a communication plan. SL and Rise were just convenient vehicles we used that could be developed quickly and pulsed out. I used SL a lot for things other than training and would be glad to tell you about it.- maren_west2 years agoCommunity MemberHi Jodi, I am not currently creating a communication plan but your post got me thinking about brining the idea to my team. I would love to chat to you more about communication plans as well as other uses for SL!

In my experience of on-boarding modules that is a tough tone to convey and often comes across as inauthentic, or worse, an ulterior motive. For me, this demo is a great example of the reshaping of the employer/employee relationship that HRs are grappling with according to many an article, "as high-skilled workers gravitate toward companies that demonstrate a vision for maximizing the quality of the employee experience".

This is ON POINT... I just started on a new role as an E-Learning Content Designer and this gave me a very clear direction. Great thing about this is, i can use my own onboarding experience to pin point what more can be done to improve. Thank you so much Jodi.
