My entry this week is about Innovations announced at the Consumer Electronic Show. I decided that Rise would be a great tool for creating this timeline. I customized the background with a color picker.

I use both photo media as well as video content using the embed feature.
I also have a prequiz and post quiz which is a drag-n-drop I made in Storyline.

- GunjanBhattacha4 years agoCommunity MemberThis is such a 'Wow' sort of blast from the past Ron, reminds of the video 'Retro Tech' on YouTube. An apt choice for timeline-based information presentation. This ispires me to use my hand at Rise as well! Thanks for this!
- PhilLak4 years agoCommunity MemberRon, one of these electronic devices was my first buy with my first pay ! Souvenirs...
- SaraWildman-9994 years agoCommunity MemberNice use of Rise blocks!
- KariVaz4 years agoCommunity MemberRon, I haven't used Rise much and did not know it had a timeline feature. Your topic was so interesting - I definitely did not get the order of Innovations correct in the pre-test.
- Ron_Katz4 years agoCommunity MemberThanks, Karishma. I try and push myself a little each time. Hence, incorporating the Storyline into Rise. I hope the features of the pre-test helped you get to the right answers eventially.
- AmyPalian4 years agoCommunity MemberHi, Ron. Nice job with the drag and drop pretest followed by the timeline. It was very informative. I didn't know the very first in-home gaming console was introduced the year I was born :)
- Ron_Katz4 years agoCommunity MemberSometimes doing a pretest, content, post-test can be valuable for learning. I had finished the content and was ready to post my entry, then I thought better of it and decided to create the drag and drop.
- AmyPalian4 years agoCommunity MemberI absolutely agree with you, Ron. As an educator, I used to use pre and post-tests to measure success, not only for the learners but also for me as an educator. I was, then, introduced to UDL and I fell in love with it. Learning theories are as important when building eLearning as they are when teaching. I am glad to see that you use the pre and post-tests in your designs as well.
- EricChamberl1864 years agoCommunity Memberexcellent presentation. I thought for sure I had my two guesses spot on but no... :(
- Ron_Katz4 years agoCommunity MemberThat's ok Eric. I tried to guess after I built it and still had problems the first 10 or so times.
- JodiSansone4 years agoCommunity MemberThat Rise block worked very nicely. I forget to use it.
- KOsunero4 years agoCommunity MemberA timeline is a perfect choice for this content, Ron! Great idea to include a pre-test; I got most of them wrong (haha) but this actually encouraged me to delve into the content to learn more.
Spoilers for anyone who didn't try it yet: I wasn't able to click and drag the Oculus option (though after reviewing the content, it kind of makes sense why!). - JacobBroadhead4 years agoCommunity MemberI accidentally reported your comment on my post. Thanks for commenting on my submission and so many others. The drag and drop quiz was a fun way to begin. I was frustrated for a while because I couldn't get them all correctly placed. It was nice to see another example of how to use Rise.
