Using Morph Transition Effects in E-Learning #501

If you’re anything like me (or most e-learning designers), your go-to slide transition is probably Fade. Fade is easy. It’s subtle. And it doesn’t distract learners from the content. But now with Storyline’s new Morph transition, you have another way to smoothly blend slides together in a simple and engaging way.

Using morph transitions, you can take any object whether it’s text, shapes, or images, and simply adjust its size, position, color, or shape on the following slide. Morph takes care of everything in between.

No need to work with complicated motion paths or timelines. It’s a simple effect with a lot of possibilities. And that’s what this week’s e-learning challenge is all about.

🏆 Challenge of the Week

This week, your challenge is to share an example of the Morph transition and demonstrate how it can be used in e-learning. You can use either Storyline or PowerPoint for your example.

📝 Tips for Submitting Your Challenge

Here are a few quick ways to make the most of your examples:

  • Give it a great title: This is the first thing people see next to your thumbnail, so make it clear and engaging.
  • Add a screenshot: This becomes your thumbnail in the recap page.
  • Share your process (if you want): Learned something cool? Faced a challenge? Tell us a little about how you built your example.
  • Link to your blog: Include a link to your blog post or LinkedIn profile so other users can connect with you.
  • Share it on social: Post your entry on LinkedIn with the hashtag #ElearningChallenge and tag me @DavidAnderson and I’ll help promote it.
  • Jump into the comments: Each post has a comment section where you can ask questions, share feedback, or connect with others. It’s a simple way to stay engaged with the community.
