Here's my entry for this week. I used a screen recording I did for my husband a while back (he kept asking me for help to scan documents...) I realized a bit late in the game that the recording resolution is a little low. I kept it for this demo purpose as I was already well on my way.

- KarinLorbeck3 years agoCommunity MemberThat's a good idea, Teresa. I'll add that to the slide where the user has to click on the scan menu.

- KarinLorbeck3 years agoCommunity MemberThank you, Deb! I agree with the simple not always being simple behind the scenes :)
- Ron_Katz3 years agoCommunity MemberI love that you repurposed a screen recording you did to help your husband remember how to use the scanner. My dad keeps asking me the same question over and over as well. The design was clean and worked well. Great work!

- MarkTurner3 years agoCommunity MemberI really like this, and can see many uses for it in our systems training. Would you mind giving me a brief explanation of what the variable triggers are doing, please? I'm struggling to get my head around it! Thanks, Mark
- KarinLorbeck3 years agoCommunity MemberHi Mark,
I'm happy to hear you can see uses for this!
I was playing around with delaying the start of the video to give the user time to read the correct answer text box and not miss the beginning of the video. I set the variable StartVideoTime to one second after the user clicks the correct answer. I then use it along with the built-in Slide.ElapsedTime to trigger the start of the video.
The VideoPlayed variable trigger keeps the video from looping.
There may be an easier way to do this than what I did. I ended up not using it in the other slides, but I see I left some trigger remnants in there that I will clean up.
I hope this helps. If not, feel free to shoot me an email at klorbeck123@gmail.com- MarkTurner3 years agoCommunity MemberThat's great - thank you Karin. Apologies that I hadn't seen your reply earlier!
- KandiceKidd-7303 years agoCommunity MemberHi Karin, I really like this! Is this all the recording or did you use motion paths?
- KarinLorbeck3 years agoCommunity MemberThanks, Kandice! This is all from the recording. No motion paths.
- NancySutton3 years agoCommunity MemberThis is excellent! Great prepping the viewer, then letting them try, then showing them how.
- KarinLorbeck3 years agoCommunity MemberThank you, Nancy!
- TemiWilliams3 years agoCommunity MemberThis is really good. Loved the fact that you actually walked through the steps after choosing answer. Very practical as well. Learning a lot from this challenge. Thank you.
