Color and accessibility. Basic cheat sheet (interactions pending).

Btw; Does anyone know if there is a way to fade-in/fade-out captions. The entrance and exit are rather brutal - I never noticed it before.

I can appreciate the desire to have control over the aesthetics of closed captions, but that would interfere with the time needed to read and process the captions. Depending on the chunk of text and speed of audio, some captions only appear for 2 seconds at a time (that's the minimum they should appear), so even a .25 transition in/out would reduce the time to read the caption by a significant amount.
As a hard of hearing person who relies on captions, I can also tell you that would be really annoying! ;)- Ange4 years agoCommunity MemberHi Berly, Thanks for your feedback. What I had in mind was to add silence between the captions in the audio file, which is easily done in Articulate, and ideally replace the Articulate voice with human voice-over talent, Articulate voices have a tendency to speak relatively fast. With more silence between the captions I could edit them to stay up on the screen for longer, while also affording a smoother exit and entrance transition. I had included the ability to start audio, pause audio and captions, and a transcript—not optimal I know. I would welcome any suggestions you have to make CC more accessible and streamlined for the hard of hearing.
