We’re always excited to release new features and this update has us extra pumped because it includes many highly requested features. Curious which ones? Check out this short video, and then keep reading!

Rise 360

1. Snapshots

Have you ever wished you could turn back time after making sweeping changes to your course and realizing you liked the previous version better? Now you can. Simply save snapshots of your project before making big updates so you can revert back if needed.

Here’s how it works: When you want to save a version of your course, open the Snapshots menu next to the course title, select Save snapshot, enter a name, and click Save. To revert back to that version later on, simply open the Snapshots menu, select Preview to review the content, and click Restore this snapshot. Easy peasy!

Want more details about this feature? Read this article: Rise 360: How to Use Snapshots

2. Timed Quizzes

If you need to build regulatory or compliance courses that require learners to complete quizzes within a certain time frame, you’ll be happy to hear that you can now add a timer to your quizzes in Rise.

And it’s super easy to do! Simply click the gear icon to open the settings window, toggle on the timer, enter the desired duration, and you’re all set.

For more info on timed quizzes, check out this knowledge base article: Rise 360: Quiz Settings.

3. Heading Level Control

Adding headings to your content to define its structure and hierarchy is a great way to make content more scannable. You’ve always been able to include lesson titles, headings, and subheadings in your course, but now you can take that organization to the next level by adding additional heading levels to the text within your blocks!

In addition to making your content easier to digest, headings help learners using screen readers to quickly parse your content by jumping from heading to heading. It’s a win for all your learners!

4. Drag-and-Drop Dashboard Management

Have tons of Rise projects that need organizing? You’re in luck! Now you can easily sort your courses into folders by simply dragging them to the desired location. You can even select and move multiple courses at once* by hovering over them, checking the box on the upper left-hand side, and dropping them in the appropriate folder. Dashboard zero, here we come!

Head over to this handy article for more details: Rise 360 How to Organize Content.

*Note that multi-select is not available in the All Content, Shared With Me, and My Shortcuts folders.

Storyline 360

1. Enhanced Word Publishing

If you’re using the publish to Microsoft Word feature to share content with stakeholders, you’ll be happy to hear that we’ve made a couple of exciting updates!

Now, Storyline defaults to the more modern and secure DOCX file format. With DOCX, not only is the file size smaller—making it easier to share your files via email—they’re also more compatible with other applications, support advanced formatting, and are less susceptible to corruption.

And that’s not all! With the latest update, you can now use this feature even if you don’t have a copy of Microsoft Word installed on your computer. So practical!

Want to learn more about these enhancements? Check out this article: Storyline 360: Publishing a Course to Microsoft Word.

2. New Player Text Label Languages

Many course creators deliver content to learners across the globe, so we added 45 additional languages to the Storyline course player for a total of 75 default language options. And if the language you need isn’t available, don’t worry. You can easily create your own custom label set.

Head over to see the full list of languages and learn how to create your own: Storyline 360: Switching to Another Language.

3. Add Media Library Images to Slide and Feedback Layouts

Setting up slide and feedback master layouts you can reuse throughout your course helps save time and ensure consistency. And now, when you add image placeholders to those layouts, you can easily insert pictures saved in the course’s media library. This makes it easy to reuse assets already present in your course. Such a time-saver!

Learn more about this workflow enhancement here: Storyline 360: Insert Placeholder.

4. Alt Text Limit Tip

Adding alternative text (alt text) makes imagery accessible for learners using screen readers. To help you ensure your alt text never exceeds the recommended 150-character limit, we’ve added a dynamic counter that appears as you type. So handy!

Want to know more about how this works? Read this article: Storyline 360: Adding Alternative Text for Screen Readers.

5. Enhanced Screen Reader Support for Tables

With this new feature, learners using screen readers will not only know what’s in the table, they’ll also know where the content is located—thanks to the addition of column and row announcements. And that’s not all! We’ve added support for some commonly-used shortcuts to make navigating tables with a screen reader more intuitive. A real win for accessibility!

Reach 360

1. Custom Notification Email Content

Sharing courses with learners is one thing, ensuring they actually complete them is another. With custom learner notifications, you can boost learner motivation by crafting custom subject lines and messages that highlight the benefits of your training. A real game-changer!

Want to learn more about how to customize learner notifications? Dive into this detailed article: Reach 360: Manage Your Account Settings.

2. Reach Learner Interface Translations

If you create and deliver courses in multiple languages, you’ll be thrilled to hear that learners can now change the Reach interface to Spanish, French, and German—and more languages are on the way. Such a big improvement to the learning experience for international learners—in just a single click!

Version 3.0
  • We've been asking for storyline 360 on MacBooks for a very long time now and it never happened. Such a shame.

I was really disappointed in this and only finding out after I was ordered a Macbook Pro, that there was still no native Mac app for Storyline. I just forwarded the specs to IT and the specs page lists support for MacOS but not until you go into further detail, is the details about running a virtual environment to run Storyline. I had to return my Mac and now have to remote into a desktop, as that is what my business is providing me.

Mi caso es igual al tuyo Pam; para solucionarlo instalé una maquina virtual de windows en mi equipo MacBook. Al día de hoy no he tenido ningún problema.

  • I have been wanting to save versions and restore to older versions for years! Thank you for the snapshots feature!

Yes, what a game-changer! This is a fantastic feature. Developers, any estimation when it will move out of Beta to Production?

  • I would like to see the top 5 requested features come to life, in the context of "you asked we delivered" I . Then theres no point in having Request a feature functionality.

  • The restore option is a game changer, but I still dream that there will eventually be an Eyedropper option in rise 😩

  • Is there a way to vote for features that have been requested from other users??

  • Hi KarineMorris669!

    Thanks for reaching out!

We take feature requests from our community members seriously and strive to keep improving our software for our users. This article goes into further detail on how we manage feature requests.

Some community members have started their own request lists, but it's not something Articulate manages. If you submit a request, I suggest keeping our Feature Roadmap bookmarked, to see if it's coming soon in a future update!

Please let me know if you have any more questions!
