2-Minute Fire Escape Plan
Looking back on 2025, there were moments when it felt like I was constantly putting out fires—often with only a couple of minutes to act. That experience directly inspired this project, which I’m submitting as a representation of my best work from the year.
**2-Minute Fire Escape Plan** is a fast-paced, interactive fire safety experience that challenges learners to make critical, life-saving decisions under pressure. As the clock counts down, participants must respond quickly and accurately to progress through an emergency scenario.
With each correct decision, a dynamic **Score Meter** fills, visually signaling how close the learner is to a successful escape. Hesitation or incorrect choices slow their progress, reinforcing the urgency of the situation. More than a scoring system, the meter serves as a powerful visual reminder that quick, informed action can make the difference in a real-world emergency.
This also tracks a leaderboard of scores, dates, times.

Love the idea of taking them down a path and learning by doing. Leaderboard is a great idea too, I'd have no idea how to create a leaderboard, but would love to.

Love this! I really like that this is very interactive and they learn as they play along. Would love to know how to make something like this.

Hi Andree, I appreciate your kind words and encouragement. This course was created by using buttons that the user can click and drag to a location, then changing the state of the button once it's dropped. And the timer uses a simple JavaScript code, and the score is updated by variables. Let me know if that is helpful, or if there is anything else that I can do to help you develop something like this.
