Testing Carousel/Process block in Rise using NVDA
Hello MadalinaMano183
Yes, we’ve tested the carousel and process blocks in Rise using NVDA.
In our testing, both the image alt text and the step text are announced when navigating in Browse Mode with the arrow keys. The Tab key typically moves between interactive controls, such as the slide buttons, while the arrow keys are used to read the content inside the block.
Because these blocks follow a carousel interaction pattern, focus lands on the navigation controls first. From there, a screen reader user can navigate the content and read it. This approach allows step-by-step navigation without requiring users to navigate through all content before reaching the controls.
To help us better understand what you’re experiencing, could you share:
- Which browser you're using (NVDA is commonly tested with Firefox, as that combination is widely used and tends to provide consistent behavior)
- Whether NVDA is in Browse Mode or Focus Mode
- Whether this is in preview or published output (where is it hosted)
- The exact key sequence you’re using when the text is not read
With that context, we can make sure we’re testing under the same conditions.
