Hello! Here is the link to the course I built. This was my first AI generated course, and I really enjoyed working through this challenge.
https://share.articulate.com/r802zL4zU-cL71lRtciN2
- Three changed made to improve learner engagement (and why)
- I used the AI image generator to add imagery throughout the course. I used imagery to divide up lesson content and invoke emotion. I tested out using custom image styles and prompts based on some of the text generated in the AI course draft.
- I rewrote the knowledge checks to be scenario-driven based on actions and behaviors. I also refined the correct/incorrect feedback text to be more concise and support learning objectives.
- I used the writing assistant and custom text prompts to create a hook-style introduction to speak to the learner and create connection. I rewrote quite a bit of the text to be more conversational and deleted duplicative text/concepts to be more concise.
- Most valuable AI feature and why
I really love the writing assistant feature. This helped me take the AI generated content and bring in the creative side of design and development, creating more scenario-driven text that is relatable for the learner. I was surprised by the quality of the output and how easy it was to change the entire tone of the course. I also really loved the instant convert feature. This saves a lot of time and again allows for more capacity to prototype various interactions and presentation styles within a course that I may not typically have the time or capacity to work though in a project.
3. Challenges using AI
The biggest challenges I had in this course were creating cohesive images that reflected course content or aligned my idea. I am new to writing image prompts and tested a few of the techniques presented in this course including custom styles and prompts from course text. I have room for improvement here!
- MelAngiuloPeer Guide
I like the imagery you chose and how it's consistent with the overall color palette/theme of the lesson! Adding the prompts with the lightbulbs after each bullet to drive the point home was a nice touch too. Excellent job overall!
I agree, the writing assistant and instant convert are two of my favorite features; they make things so much easier when you've got that blank screen panic. 😄Personally, I found this lesson on creating images to be very helpful for me, because I also struggle with creating good AI image prompts:
Creating Images, Narration, and Sound with AI Assistant | E-Learning Heroes
Have you tried using the AI assistant to generate the image prompt based on your text? I've found that can be a great starting point too.

Hi everyone,
This was a fun challenge, as most of our courses are technical – we can’t often play with AI image creation!
Quick share link:
https://share.articulate.com/zzbcVaST-tuN-vvRDFNg3
Changes I made:
- I tested the AI rewrite function, to see if it would help in times of “brain freeze.” Most times it did, but I still found myself wanting more from that feature.
- I utilized the Convert Block feature, which was really great.
- The Knowledge Check question creation was also a good value add for this exercise.
Most valuable:
The feature that was most valuable was the Convert Blocks feature. I really liked that it could quickly change a path, without me having to completely recreate an interaction.
Biggest challenge:
The biggest challenge I found was the rewrite functions. There were a few times that I would ask for a synonym, and when I was given an option, I asked for another – and it gave me the original word.
Overall, I am looking forward to applying some of these functions into our typical training production.
Hi Heather! That's a great point about occasionally limited synonym selection, I've found sometimes it showing me what I don't want helps get past the sticking point of rewriting 😂
So glad to hear you're looking to apply some of the functions right away, let us know how it goes!

Hi everyone. I had limited bandwidth to work on this, but here the course I built. I have started working with Rise again after many years, I enjoyed this brief course!
Quick Share link:

Share 3 changes you made:
- Improved visual design and inclusivity:
I added diverse and inclusive images to ensure representation across different genders, and backgrounds, helping learners see themselves reflected in the course. I also introduced consistent color-coded sections to break up content and guide attention.
Why: These changes make the experience more visually engaging and inclusive, which helps learners feel connected to the content and improves focus when navigating the course.Reduced cognitive load:
I shortened long paragraphs into concise, easy-to-scan content and added audio narration for dense sections.
Why: Learners can feel overwhelmed by large blocks of text, so simplifying content and providing audio supports different learning styles and keeps engagement high.Increased interactivity and engagement:
I adjusted the tone to be more conversational where needed and refined interactive elements to keep learners actively involved rather than passively reading.
Why: Interactivity and a more approachable tone maintain learner attention and encourage participation.- Most valuable in your workflow..:
I found the summarize, audio generation tools especially useful because I previously relied on external AI tools for these tasks. Being able to do this directly within Rise made my workflow faster and more streamlined, allowing me to quickly refine content without switching tools.
Another valuable feature was generating custom images. This helped me create more relevant and engaging visuals while being intentional about inclusivity. I could guide the prompts to avoid stereotypes and low-quality content, ensuring the visuals aligned with the course’s tone and learning goals.
- What challenges:
I found that AI design and formatting capabilities are still somewhat limited.
It is not always possible to easily apply consistent changes, such as adjusting the size, format, or colors of different blocks, across the course in bulk. Having a centralized AI-powered menu or library to manage these elements would make a big difference.
Especially during rebrands, updating content to match new visual guidelines required a significant amount of manual work in a short time. In this context, I could see how more advanced AI-driven theme customization (e.g., automatically updating styles across all sections) would save considerable time and effort.
I’m looking forward to future improvements in this area, especially around streamlining theme customization and enabling bulk updates, which would make the workflow even more efficient.

I was not able to get the Ai to change text color and bold key terms in one prompt. I had tried multiple times to no avail. Nice to see I was not alone :) I appreciate your enhancement ideas to further improve this feature!
- TracyCindric-09Community Member
Adding diversity is a great change. I have noticed that sometimes it seems to reuse the same character several times in one image. Now I know to watch out for that more closely before selecting an image.
Theme customization and bulk updates would be super helpful!
Alberto,
I also really liked the choice you made to use watercolor images throughout your course. Having the consistent image style throughout helps keep the connections between lessons for the learners.
I also appreciate that you include a lot of knowledge checks throughout, along with including the AI Audio to keep it inclusive for the learner. I think this was a great use of the AI and where you used it in each lesson made sense.
My suggestion would be by adding in dividers to help break up the learner's eye/scroll or narrowing down the variety of interactive blocks. All the blocks you used served a specific purpose and I understood your reasoning, my logic is making it a little less busy during the scroll.
But this was a very enjoyable course to work through, thank you for sharing it with us.

Hello everyone
https://share.articulate.com/cXTlhcKBC3kU3RDvvO6Xp
Changes I made to improve engagement:
- Broke up longer content into cleaner sections so it’s easier to follow.
- Converted some info-heavy blocks into interactive blocks.
- Adjusted the tone to feel more conversational and less like a formal course.
Most valuable AI feature:
AI was most helpful for quickly drafting and reworking the quiz & knowledge check.Challenges with AI:
Getting the tone right was the hardest part—early outputs felt either too generic or too polished, so it took a few prompt tweaks to get something that felt natural and usable.- MelAngiuloPeer Guide
I like your use of the color theme throughout; it really ties the whole lesson together. You did a nice job of breaking up the text with different interactive blocks and visual elements. I agree, I really like using the AI assistant to rework quiz questions or to give me a starting point for a new one.

Hi, I don't have the Quick Share option. I only LMS, Web, PDF and Reach 360. I've watched the tutorial, and simply don't have the option to be able to share? Any ideas?
Hi ChristinaChanti it sounds like your Articulate 360 account admins have disabled the public sharing options.
Do you have Review 360? If so, you can publish the course to Review 360 and share the link to your published content.
If not, you can publish the content for Web and attach the zipped output file here. That way, I should be able to open it and view your course.
- ChristinaChantiCommunity Member
Thank you so much, Alyssa! That works perfectly as a Web/Zip option. I didn’t have Review 360, so I really appreciate the workaround. Thank you for the excellent course—I’ll be referring back to it until I have it memorized! ;-) Please let me know if you need any further information. Chris

Hello! I also use primarily Storyline, so spending time with Rise was a lot of fun.
Just for kicks, I used image prompts that include "in the style of Pixar" and "Use characters from The Office."
https://share.articulate.com/GeU68JL9h79z8vguShl-N
I focused the requirements for this activity primarily in Lesson 1.
- Changes made to improve learner engagement.
- I used the hook style introduction.
- I used prompts to shorten paragraphs and to change paragraphs to bulleted text.
- I added a couple of knowledge checks in the lessons.
- I rewrote quiz questions to remove "NOT" statements.
- I used instant convert to change text to an interaction.
- Most valuable AI feature.
- Instant Convert is a new favorite. This is an area where I can get stuck creatively, so it is really nice to have.
- Quiz Generation! So much time saved!
- I'm also looking forward to the Custom Block. I tried to use it (image attached) but could not get it into the lesson.
- Challenges using the AI Assistant.
- Again, focusing mostly on Lesson 1, I found quite a bit of repetitive content, which I caught and edited.
- ElizabethBauer-Community Member
Tamara - What a fun "Office in Pixar style" theme! That's a great way to stretch your creativity in a certification project, and it made me smile every time I saw the next image. I really liked the way you simplified the repetitive content and helped it flow better. My favorite tidbit that I would love to borrow is the look you used for the "Key Concept" in Lesson 1. It really drew attention to that key and I'm sure that makes it "stickier" for learners like me. How did you build that block?
I did have trouble with a few of the quiz questions. I'm sure you would have caught these in testing if this was a real-world project. There were at least two multiple response questions that only had one right answer, so they could have been multiple choice. As it was, when I selected wrong answers, the feedback was jumbled together and I couldn't tell which feedback applied to which wrong answer. Also, the T/F question accepted either true or false as an answer, even though the feedback clearly supported "true."
I would definitely prefer your course to what we started from, and picked up a few takeaways for my own work.

I love the theme and visuals! They made me smile.
- albertocampo91Community Member
I really like the Pixar-style animation theme you used for the images, they tell a story and really help guide the reader through the content. Also loved the Office reference, nice touch! 😊
My only suggestion would be to keep the same image-theme consistently until the end for better cohesion. Overall, great job!!!

AlyssaGomez and team - Did anyone else have trouble with the Custom Block? I was able to select it and edit by adding audio and an image, but it won't save the edits to my course.
Hi TamaraCraft-62f the custom block should be working fine! Please try it again today and let us know if you see an improvement!

Three changes I made:
- Changed tab block to a process block, allowing for more interaction and visuals + audio.
- I kept to a color scheme that aligned with the overall course theme. I thought this created consistency throughout, and it was easy to keep to this theme with a custom style in the image generation interface.
- Added multiple audio elements to replace text, allowing for a constant narrator throughout while reducing text-heavy blocks.
Most valuable AI feature or capability:
- Highlighting or selecting a section of text -> Edit w/ AI -> Generate AI image prompt -> copy and paste into AI image generator. The process of finding images was extremely shortened due to this feature, and it is one I will be using ASAP at work.
- "Talking" with the AI assistant while it was editing text, specifically the quiz at the end, was very helpful. I had the opportunity to edit in real time and fine-tuned my prompting skills.
- Instant convert is also a favorite. I wish there were more options with this, but I did see an option for images in beta so that makes me excited.
Challenges:
- One consistent challenge I have with gen AI is not having the ability to provide exclusionary terms, e.g., "no words on the whiteboard" when trying to generate an image. AI will take those words and ensure they are included in the picture, which is frustrating at times. It does a better job with text.
- SabrinaElyCommunity Member
I agree, the ability to generate an AI prompt from text is awesome. I wish there was a shortcut on that menu to just generate the image from there if you are building an image/text block for example. Maybe in the future!
I really like how you used your brand color throughout, even in your images- it felt very cohesive. Did you use your hex code in your image prompts or how did you do this so well? I also like the condensed course menu on the left. I haven't used that one yet but it looks modern and clean.
- ElizabethBauer-Community Member
Thanks for checking it out, Sabrina. I did see that if you instant-covert to the Image + Text block (Beta) it does generate an image to start with, have you tried that out yet?
For this project I did just use the built-in "Blueberry" color. Some of the really intense colors almost "vibrate" and can be hard to see in heavy usage. I do typically use the hex code of my client's primary brand color in the theme, and then if I use an image style where it makes sense to leverage the color, I do include the hex code there as well.
I have always used the full left menu as a lot of learners like seeing their progress more clearly. I've just started using the condensed menu for SME / Stakeholder reviews where they will have the Comments panel open as well, to maximize the view of the full content area. The plan is to go back to the full left menu when we publish at the end. It's great to have so many options. I'm often concerned with accessibility issues in eLearning and many things that are fun and engaging for me personally can be a problem for people using screen readers or with color blindness or dyslexia or any number of things, so I admit to letting a few of those restrictions go for the purpose of playing with this project. I do recommend checking out the following if you want to learn more about accessibility topics! The contrast checker is my most used resource.

Very impressed by your course theme Nolan. Can you share which theme you selected or this something totally customized?
- NolanCollins-a4Community Member
Thanks, Alberto! I created the teal theme throughout using AI images with a customized style prompt. I took the vector blues style, changed "blue color palette" to teal, removed the geometric elements, and made sure the photos used were more realistic. I also did some of these with the "Minimal" style, too.
I experimented with some custom blocks and used the same color palette there to make everything look like it's part of the theme.
- TamaraCraft-62fCommunity Member
Very nice looking! Thanks for the tip about establishing branding by entering a custom color early on.

Hello everyone! I exclusively use Rise in my organization. I found this activity to be a lot of fun! Here is the course that I made: https://share.articulate.com/l5goEEyd4ODRv6ww1zVsD
Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- To enhance learning engagement I added images throughout the course. Using images with texts helps break up content so the learner isn’t overloaded by text heavy lessons. I asked Articulate AI to create image prompts from the content section to help me pick images. Images were used in the following ways:
- To create a “space” between blocks. For example, between the section introduction and an accordion or other interactive block.
- Changed regular text statements to images with text. For example, the original course draft included introductory statements that I first used the AI to change to a “hook-style” statement and then instant converted the statement into an image with text.
- In conjunction with when I added content via the AI audio. I would have the AI take a statement and change it into a hook-style statement or an analogy and then include the AI audio with an image that matches the situation (that was generated via an image prompt based on the statement/analogy).
- I added instructions for interactive elements of the course, for example on accordions, flashcards, tabs, etc. add instructions on what the learner is supposed to do to interact with the content. (Expand the sections, click the tabs, flip the cards). I do this in my courses for two reasons: it helps guide the learner through the content but also to provide technical instructions in case the learner gets stuck and doesn’t know what to do.
- Used AI Instant Convert to change content blocks. I changed flipcards to accordion in one section because I felt like the card was too small for the amount of text. I changed an accordion to a bullet list in another section because sometimes I feel like I use too many interactive elements and I feel like the learner will be overwhelmed. I added a sorting activity when I felt like the content should be broken up by some kind of knowledge check (that wasn’t a quiz).
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
AI convert is a total game changer. Before Articulate AI I would spend so much time copying and pasting content into new blocks (because I decided I didn’t like the way the content was presented). Being able to instant convert is so amazing. It’s probably one of my favorite features that Articulate AI provides.
Additionally, I really enjoyed learning about and creating hook-style introductions and creating image prompts from content. It seems kind of silly but I hadn’t thought about utilizing the Articulate AI to help generate image prompts from content. I am excited to utilize both of these in future courses.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
What I found the most challenging was selecting the generated images. While creating image prompts from content is something I found valuable, I still found it challenging to find the right image for the overall look and feel of the course, and that didn’t have weird text gibberish in the background. It could also be that I am extremely picky or my image prompts are not good. Refining those image prompts is definitely something I want to work on more.
- DejakaBachman-aCommunity Member
Great work, Tara! I really like the changes you made to decrease cognitive load for the learner such as reducing text, adding meaningful interactions, and using audio with imagery. I also love how you included interaction instructions for the learner. This is something that was hit and miss in my AI drafted course and is absolutely a value-add. I also struggled with the AI generated imagery. This is an area of growth for me as well. I do think the images you included are relevant and support the messaging.
- TamaraCraft-62fCommunity Member
Very clean! I like the option to read the transcript. Definitely stealing that one!
- MelAngiuloPeer Guide
I agree, the instant convert feature is a gamechanger! It's nice that you can add it below the existing section, so that you can try a few different options and see which works the best. I like that you called out using different interactive elements (tabs, accordion, etc.) with specific intentions behind it, like being able to fit all of the text comfortable.
From my own experience, I’ve found it helpful to use Continue buttons sparingly and very intentionally. If they show up too often, they can sometimes feel like extra cognitive load for learners—but that may depend on the course context.
Generating images (and good image prompts) is something I struggle with as well! I found this eLearning Heroes lesson very helpful (and hopefully you will too!):Creating Images, Narration, and Sound with AI Assistant | E-Learning Heroes
