Thanks for the nice exercises! Very helpful and fun to complete!
In Rise 360 it looked all as shown in the videos. In Storyline 360, I think we are not up-to-date for now. The highest voice version was at V2.5 and the AI Assistant was not the same. But it worked fine as well.🤩
Which AI Assistant feature:-
- Image creation and Text-to-Speech
- What surprised you:
- that it's taking the context from a lesson for instance automatically in Rise 360.
- The quality of the voices are so natural!
- Which editing tools:
- Instant convert and change tone
- What challenges:
-
What didn't work was the whole AI for Slide Animations. So, a little bit of manual work but that's also fine.
-
Unfortunately I have a problem to preview the scene or play the voice on a slide as soon AI generated Text-to-Speech was added to the timeline. Error report is send to Articulate!😢

Hey Michael! I'm sorry this is happening- it's possible that updating your Storyline software will help, but if it doesn't you can open a case with support here. Fingers crossed we can get this fixed ASAP!

Which editing tools (rewrite, shorten, change tone, etc.) did you find most valuable, and why?
Honestly - all of it! Specifically, though, I find the "shorten" feature extremely valuable to turn text-heavy material into something more digestible, yet still retaining the initial message/purpose. This saves a lot of time when I can't decide how to reword it myself.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
I am extremely picky when it comes to the media I like to use in my courses. I want them all to appear from the same "collection." I noticed that there were varying differences with some of the illustration characters I was generating (different hair, features, clothes, etc.). I imagine this is likely something that can be solved as I become more comfortable with generating specific AI prompts. Also, there are occasional flubs (count their fingers!)

I find the image generation to also be frustrating and I almost always go back to using Adobe stock. I think right now we unfortunately can't be too picky if we are going to rely on AI for this.

- Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities?
AI Audio generation would be most useful feature. This is pretty easy for me because of my previous experience in using it. I also like the animation generation in Storyline. I haven't used it yet in an actual project but now that I tried it out, I think I will. - What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
I think the image generation is the most challenging and the cookies example really demonstrated this. I find that there are certain instructions or details that you can include in your prompt that never are paid attention to. For example, if you add "do not include images of actual cookies" in the prompt, it totally ignores it. You have to actually reduce or remove the word cookies for it to not display any. I was able to reduce the usage of the work cookies to just the first mention and got 1 of the 4 images to not have them represented in the image.

It has to be the AI Audio creation. This is going to be very helpful for creating sample conversations. - What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
Getting the right prompt that fits the need. I still struggled with the Website Cookie image prompt.

I also love the AI Audio creation! It can take some time to create these convos and make them sound real and conversational. So this is a huge win and a time saver!

- Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities? For me it was the convert a block. Before it was very exhausting to redo the content once I felt that the block is not a good fit for it. But now it's so much easier to do.
- What surprised you about how AI handled text or media generation? I was not surprised actually but it's still a learning curve, I mean all of AIs are. But still a useful feature specially if you want to custom photo.

- Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities? Converting the blocks. It was so easy to use.
- Which editing tools (rewrite, shorten, change tone, etc.) did you find most valuable, and why? I loved the ability to change the tone of the text selected. I also like the ability to shorten the text. Especially since I have challenges with being wordy at times. This feature allowed me to make the text more concise.

Here's the answers to some of the questions:
- Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities? Creating knowledge check questions was very helpful. I need to use the individual item edit features more to prompt it for more scenario style questions rather than just factual ones.
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted? Generating media had some challenges. It doesn't understand the command to Zoom out so many images were too close-up to use for header images or for the images that fill the block. It also seemed to give up after three iterations and gave you the same output.

1. Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities? The knowledge check feature was the most intuitive and useful AI Assistant feature for me. It efficiently generates relevant assessments directly from course content, saving significant time and ensuring alignment with learning objectives. The ability to quickly create varied question types and refine them offered a streamlined approach to assessment development.
2. What surprised you about how AI handled text or media generation? What surprised me most about the AI Assistant's handling of text and media generation was its ability to automatically generate closed captions for uploaded videos. Previously, my workflow involved a much more manual process: uploading videos into editing software like Premiere Pro, exporting an SRT file, converting that to a VTT file, and then uploading it into the course. The AI Assistant's capability to generate captions directly upon video upload significantly reduces this tedious work and saves a considerable amount of time. This feature streamlines the accessibility process, making it much more efficient.

What surprised you about how AI handled text or media generation?
What surprised me most about AI’s text-to-speech capabilities was how natural some of the voices sounded. I was also impressed by the variety of voice options available and how simple it was to adjust the wording or tone. Conversely, I found the cinematic images somewhat disappointing; they often appear noticeably “AI-generated” and lack the realism I expected.Which editing tools (rewrite, shorten, change tone, etc.) did you find most valuable, and why?
The editing tools I found most useful were shorten, change tone, and lengthen because they make refining content quicker and save time. Shorten helps turn dense material into clear, easy-to-digest bits, while lengthen lets you add more detail when needed. Change tone is great for tailoring content to different audiences or goals so it sounds right. I also appreciated the instant convert feature for brainstorming; it quickly generates alternative block options that can reveal more engaging ways to present material to learners.
