Welcome & Introductions

Oh, this is so fun to read everyone's posts and see all the pics! My name is Melissa Turner and I'm an ID at Kiewit. Kiewit is a very learning-forward organization, so our team develops online and instructor-led courses at the corporate level, as well as training projects to support our various districts and markets. I've been an ID for about 16 years, Articulate user for the bulk of that time, and am a big fan of Rise. I'm interested in being part of this AI cohort to learn ways to improve the visual design of my courses, as well as how to be more efficient. 

This is my sweet boy, Hobbes (Hobbert, Bert, Pupper, Bupper, Bub, etc). He has been alive for as long as I've been an ID, is 7lbs and is barely the size of a molecule. 

Hi Everyone! My name is Karin and I'm a Learning Business Partner at Appian, providing training and enablement to our Product and Engineering departments. I'm remote and based in St. Louis. I've been using Rise for over 3 years and love it! Although I've tried out a few AI tools, I'm looking forward to learning more about how I can leverage AI to more quickly create courses. I especially want to simplify interactive elements.

Hi everyone! Looking forward to this cohort and learning more about the AI features in Articulate!

My name is Melissa, I'm located in northwestern Illinois, and I'm a relatively new Instructional Designer for Liberty Mutual Insurance. I just graduated with my Masters in Instructional Design in October of last year and my first introduction to Articulate was during an internship with MCIRN/University of Nebraska's School of Nursing to assist them with creating microlearning courses for nursing preceptors. Currently (with Liberty), I'm part of a rebranding project, which involves updating all of our existing Rise/Storyline files. Once that's done, I'll be creating more content from scratch for our new hire training programs.

I joined this cohort because I already use some of the AI features within Articulate, and other AI programs like GPT in my work, and so I want to ensure I'm keeping up with the rapid pace of change in this space and that I'm using the AI tools effectively.

I have two pets at home, one furry and one scaly. I have my soul-dog Arya (a 3 year old shepherd mix) who travels everywhere with me, and a 6 year old bearded dragon Drogon, who is perfectly content to stay at home on his basking rock.

I am so excited to join this cohort. I am Kailand, a learning designer at MVW supporting Resort Operations Training and Development at HQ in Orlando, FL. We are currently designing Leader Learning Paths to support our Resort Operations Leaders. I joined the cohort to learn more about leveraging the AI features to develop more engaging lessons, more efficiently. I have used the AI features in Rise, but have not fully embraced AI in Storyline. Looking forward to gaining some helpful tips. 

Hello All! My name is Brent. I live in Madison, Wisconsin. I am married and have boys who are dispersed these days... Madison, Milwaukee (and future daughter-in-law), and Sydney, Australia (daughter-in-law and grand baby in August!). And... one pretty great doggie named Mazie who keeps me entertained.

My name is Kelly Carlisle. I am in a small town in Michigan. I work for Thomson Reuters as a Learning Experience Designer.

I joined to to get as much information as possible for opportunities to use AI in all the tools I use regularly.

Looking forward to learning new tools in Articulate...especially how AI can be integrated into our designs. I work in eLearning for Liberty Mutual Insurance. I currently live in Asheville, NC with my husband. No animals currently (used to have four dogs) but looking forward to fostering a dog here very soon. I love dogs! Thanks for posting pictures of your dogs everyone! Brings joy to my day.

Hello my name is Brett and I'm a Senior Instructional Designer for Progressive Insurance. I work remotely from Palm Beach County Florida. I started my professional career as teacher (lasted 6 years), then went through a few years of random jobs, and finally joined the talent development field in 2017 (and have loved it since!). I've been at my current job for 2 years and am blessed to be part of a wonderful organization.

Articulate is a great tool I've been using for a long time, and I look forward to integrating its AI into my job duties.

Hi everyone! I’m Heather Lee, a Learning Strategy Advisor at Frontline Education. In my role, I design and curate learning experiences for our clients - everything from knowledge articles and webinars to full online courses. I’ve been working with Rise and Storyline for the past couple of years and am excited to start exploring the new AI features.

I’m based in Austin, TX, where I work alongside my co-worker, Velma, who especially enjoys when the afternoon sun finds its way to her bed in my office.
