Adding or duplicating an object (text input) by creating a trigger on a button

Dear all,

I am trying to create a button on the scene with a trigger on click that will duplicate an existing (but hidden?) input field when clicked.

The goal is to allow the user to add "post-it" to a slide and to drag them around.

Is this something that can be achieved in Storyline?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and ideas!

  • Hi, Francois.

    Thank you for reaching out!

I'm looking forward to what our talented community members will suggest for you! In the meantime, I wanted to share a few ideas, and I hope I fully understood what you're trying to achieve:

    • Create different layers for different text entry fields. Each time the user clicks submit, show the next layer.
    • Add a reference to each "post-it" note, matching the variables of the text entry fields you created.
    • Hide the notes (initial state = hidden) and only show them when the user clicks the submit button.
    • Convert the slide to FreeForm - Drag and Drop, but remove feedback and uncheck any "snapping" choice from the drag and drop options.

    Here's an example:

    I hope this helps!
