I just downloaded Articulate 3, which I am assuming is exactly the same as the Storyline on Articulate 360, and I am upgrading from Storyline 2. I have files that I created with Storyline 2 and opened with Storyline 3, and when I preview these newly upgraded files, it seems that everything loses its resolution and becomes very blurry. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Here is a slide for you to see. It looks fine while I'm working on it, and when its published. However when I preview the slides they all seem to have a slight blur. And it seems to just be for these files that I have upgraded from Storyline 2.
Hi Matthew - Thanks for sharing the file and the additional information.
Our team is aware that this is causing some preview issues and is related to our solution implemented for High DPI viewing in addition to the preview no longer being Flash, but Chromium/HTML5.
We are tracking this though, and I will add this thread to the report for both user awareness and update when applicable.
Publishing should be fine - it's just the scaling of the interface that is causing the issues while editing or previewing the course.
If you run into any issues with publishing, it'll be something that we'd want to take a look at your .story file and a link to where you're viewing the published output.
I am currently running Storyline 360 v3.7.12582.0 and am still experiencing the blurriness mentioned in previous posts. There are also grey side bars on the left and right during preview (see attached image). Is there a solution for this?
What's the screen resolution you're using on the computer? We're aware of this behavior if users have the screen resolution set higher than 100% that it can cause elements of the Storyline authoring environment to look a little blurry, but it won't impact the published output.
The image you shared didn't appear blurry on my monitor, but I saw the grey bars as you mentioned. Does the course have different player features on a few slides or is it a fully custom player set up? Could you share a copy of the .story file so that we could take a look?
Hi there, Nisha. We have noted an issue where the preview can appear blurry in the desktop view. Are you seeing any difference if you switch to another device view?
Also, when you are viewing your course in Articulate Review, what browser are you using? This site will tell you what browser version you're using as well as if Flash is enabled.
Hi Crystal, I, too, am having the same issue with blurriness. Both in the preview in Articulate Review and also once published into Rise, Storyline content is blurry. I am using Google Chrome and have my flash player enabled. I've tried numerous different story sizes within Storyline to maximize resolution. Text and images are both blurry. I'm using Storyline version 3.9.13567.0
Do you have any suggestions or updates on this problem?
Thanks for sharing that. Our team has also noted that the Chrome playback of courses can appear blurrier than browsers such as IE, Edge or Firefox. We're looking into the display issues associated with that, so I'll keep you posted on that here as well. If you have any additional screenshots to share those are always good to include in the report we've filed!
What version and update of Storyline are you currently using? I see a few similar reports of blurry previews and want to make sure I connect your issue to the right report filed with our team.
I'm using Storyline 3, Update 2. Though, we I recently connected my laptop to the external screen I noticed that the issue was gone and the text is crystal clear. I have not yet switched back to the laptop screen.
Hello Ashley, is this something also reported for Storyline 360? I am having reports come in that some screens are blurry and others are not. I am almost certain the reporter is viewing the course in Articulate Review in Chrome.
Yes, we also have it for Storyline 360 and it seems the main culprit is how it displays in Chrome. We'll keep folks posted here as there are any updates, and if you have additional examples of how your course displays in the latest update of Chrome vs. say IE11, Edge, or Safari - those are helpful to share with our team! Feel free to share them here or send along to our Support team here.
Not sure if this is valuable information, but there seams to be problems also in other preview modes. In "Tablet landscape" mode, the preview is clear until a small logo that I have inserted in the upper right corner animates and swivels. Just when the animation starts the preview gets blurry. Not possible to get it back to clear.

Its just the preview..
Hello Matthew - Would you be able to share the .story file that you need us to take a look at? I upgraded an SL2 file and did not notice a difference.

I am also having the same issue. Will my published files look ok?

I'm having this problem too in both previewing and Articulate Review

Hi everybody!
We are having the same issue with blurriness both with the images and with the texts when we use Chrome browser.
We are having problems with several clients because most of them use Chrome as a browser.
At this moment we are about to lose a client because the work done is not quality, we need a quick solution please.
Ashley, if you want I can send you the project that we have developed for our client by private if you give me your email address.
Than you,
Amaiur Sainz.
Hi Amaiur - I am sending you an e-mail. You can attach your file privately and we can add this to the report.
Thank you!
Thank you Leslie!
Same problem running preview.
Hi Lars,

Hi,
I'm using Storyline 3, Update 2. Though, we I recently connected my laptop to the external screen I noticed that the issue was gone and the text is crystal clear. I have not yet switched back to the laptop screen.
Hi Lars,
Thanks for sharing that info - do you know what the screen resolution you were using for the laptop and external monitor were?
Yes, I'm running Windows on a virtual machine with the resolution 1280x800, scaling is 100%. The external monitor is set to 1650x1050.
I have also noticed that the preview is only blurry when I select the "Desktop" mode.
Thanks Lars for sharing that - I'll include the information in the report filed with our team as we continue investigating!
