Building a progress bar that functions across different slides?

Aug 12, 2013

Hi All Storyline Experts,

I am building a quiz with Storyline. In this quiz, I want to build a progress bar at the bottom of the quiz, which  not only can be used as a navigation bar through different quiz questions, but also can be used as an indicator marking answered and unanswered questions. As you can see below, the answered questions will be in selected state in dark blue, whereas the unanswered questions will be in normal state in light blue.

Here comes my question. I created the progress bar in master slide so that it can function across all quiz question slides, but the object states are not consistent on different question slide. So is there a way to let Storyline "remember" the state of an selected object across different slides?

Thanks for any suggestions or ideas in advance!

Hi Cheng, I did something similar once. I can't say if it was designed the best way, but it worked using a true/false variable for each slide. First in the slide master set each variable to false. And then on each slide set the corresponding variable to True. You can set the adjustment trigger on the feedback layer, when the timeline starts. Second, create a trigger on the slide master for each variable. Change object state... to... if variable equals true.
