Can I change the settings of the menu in Storyline so a checkmark does not appear next to visited slides?

Dec 06, 2021

I don't want a check mark to appear next to visited slides, but I can't find in the settings where to change it.

Hi, Kerri.

Thank you for reaching out!

The checkmarks on the menu are part of the Modern Player's Accessibility features and cannot be turned off. Take a look at the following article for additional information:

As an alternative, you can use the Classic Player instead.

Kerri,

These checkmarks are part of the player and are referenced in the desktop.min.css and mobile.min.css if I'm not mistaken. Of course, you can modify these files post-publishing but your changes will be overwritten each time you publish. So, I don't recommend it as you could create other problems with the player and it's not supported by Articulate.

Just for educational purposes, here is the player with the checkmarks turned off. So, it is possible but not something you would probably want to do.

Just curious, what is your use case for wanting to turn the checkboxes off?

Thank you both very much for your responses!

Richard, I know it may seem that I wouldn't want to remove the checkmark, but I assure you that I do : )  I'm building something that is more of a tool than a linear course.  There's not need for the checkmarks.  I'd really love to go into the published files and overwrite to remove the checks.  Any chance you could show me how?  I don't mind that I'd need to do it again when I republish.
