Click buttons in order and leave text on screen

Jul 06, 2023

Hi All,

I'm a new Storyline developer and a recent escapee from Captivate and I need a little guidance.

Here's what I'm looking to do:

1. Force the learner to click the buttons in order (1-8)

2. Once the button is clicked, the text, which resides in eight separate layers, must then stay on the screen. (I think I know how to do this, layer properties/uncheck hide other slide layers).

3. There is audio with each layer and I'd like it if the learner had to hear all the audio for each layer before clicking on the next button.

Any help or suggestions you could offer would be much appreciated.

  • Set the Initial State for buttons 2-8 to Disabled. (The Initial State dropdown is to the right of the Edit States button in the States panel.)
  • On each layer, add a trigger that changes the state of the appropriate button to Normal when the layer's timeline ends, or when the audio (media) ends. For example, on layer 1, the trigger would change button 2 to Normal.
