Corrupt drag and drop slides - why is this happening?

Apr 13, 2023

I've rebuilt this multiple times on multiple slides and the exact same thing is happening. What could be causing it? The answers are either out of alignment with the answer boxes. Each answer is one line only in 36pt font and the boxes don't even need to go to the end of the screen to get them to fit. I changed the font to 28pt and it showed up looking like 10pt font and using only 30% of the answer ovals (2nd image). There's no way to change the size of the answer ovals either, it seems.

Thanks for any help!

Hi Kristin,

Great question! I understand that your text is misaligned in your drag-and-drop knowledge check and when attempting to fix the font it behaves erratically. I’m happy to work with you to figure out why these things are happening! I have a few follow-up questions regarding the situation so I can understand what you are experiencing a little better.

  • Which version of Storyline are you using?
  • Is this happening with more than one file or is this the only one?
  • You mentioned that you've rebuilt this on multiple slides. Are those slides in the same file? If so, import the course into a new Story file and republish. Do you get the same result?
  • If the file is corrupted, this can happen for a variety of reasons. The most common is working from a shared drive. Are you working from a shared drive? If so, I recommend saving your files on your local drive before creating, editing, and publishing them. This will help minimize any unexpected behavior.

Thanks for reaching out and I look forward to your response!

Hi,

I'm using Storyline 360 version v3.74.30180.0, downloaded a couple of months ago.  This is odd. I recreated it in a completely new file, and I got the same issue. But when I increased the font of the answers to 48, they aligned and everything looked fine (the font looks more like 28, so it's not displaying accurately). As long as it works, I'm happy. Very odd.
