Creating a form of the board game Twixt as a study game

Hey there. Do you two remember the game of Twixt? It was a two player game where you both started on opposite ends and tried to create an uninterrupted line while stopping the other player from doing the same. I’m going to try the same thing in Storyline but you have to press a button on the board and have a question pop up you have to answer and answer the question correctly to be able to place your line segment where you want . Red tries to create their line vertically and black horizontally. Any thoughts on how a person would pick and place their line segment. I know as the game progresses I'll have a set of layers building up. Just trying to puzzle out how a person would place the line segment on the board

Hello Chuck,
Maybe you can play around with states too instead of layers.
This way, you have all of them positioned and it's just a matter of changing from hidden to normal when they answer correctly.
