Drag and Drop Won't Snap to Center of Drop Target

Hi Articulate Community Team!
This interaction was working properly. However, I decided to add some shadow and glow to the items being dragged and dropped. After those changes, the items will no longer snap to the center of the drop targets. If I switch to drop to 'Tile' it works except Ali's and Anton's names will not drop on top of each other (one covering the other).
Cheat sheet:
-Gianna's name should go to 'Refer Out'
-Ali's name and Anton's name should both go to 'Don't Refer Out'
Thank you in advance for any help or guidance anyone can provide.

You don't have a border on the button, but you added one on the hover state. I assume that the combination of hovering, shadow and glow as well as the dotted border line is confusing something.
Removing the dotted border seems to work. Or add a border to the normal state.
if you don't use a dotted line it seems to work with a solid line
There is a known bug with the dotted line on a drop target...once changed to solid it works fine :-)
What she said. :)
Hi Philip,
I have updated our bug report to include your file as our team continues to test this one. I'll let you know here as soon as we have any more info. Thanks for reaching out!
Thank you for your help, Tom and Wendy!
I switched it to a solid line and it works.
Ashley, thank you for adding it to the bug report.
Cheers!
Not a problem, Philip! Sorry it caused you such trouble, but I'll let you know here once we have any updates on it.
Hi @ all
I hope u don't mind me hoping into that topic, but I do have a very similar problem. It's nothing big but it troubles my perfectionistic eye that I cant make my items snap in the center of their targets. I played with some sizes and different shapes but I can't make them fit (be in the center).
I am surely missing something obvious but I am unable to see it. I would be happy if someone could help me out here ^^
Thanks in advance
Hi Christiane,
It appears that the drop items are not the same size as the drop targets and the drop targets may not be lined up perfectly. Not sure if there is something else going on as well, but that might be a place to start.
Good luck.
Hi Christiane!
In addition to Philip's recommendations, I also noticed that the drop target shapes had "no fill." That's causing some buggy behavior, so instead you can use white fill with 100% transparency.
Have a look at the changes I made in your attached file, and let me know what you think!
Hi Philip,
thanks for the advice. I tried to make the items smaller cause otherwise the lines kinda thick up (but differently in every target) and that is annoying me.
Hi Alyssa,
I never thought on the *no fill* setting could cause that trouble. I like the change u made. Now it fits. I gonna play a bit with the sizes and keep the change u made. Thanks a lot ^^
You're welcome, Christiane! I'm happy we could help you sort this one out. 😊
Hello everyone,
I'm happy to share that we just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.
I'm sure you'll be most interested in:
Fixed: Drag-and-drop questions weren't always evaluated correctly, and drag items weren't precisely centered in drop targets.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.
Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
That's fantastic! Thank you for the update, Leslie.
I am having trouble with objects snapping to the target consistently and I have upgraded to the latest Articulate 360. I'm attaching my .story file. The first question snaps perfectly when dragged to a target, but the second two aren't landing in the right places. These were copied from the first one and I've checked everything I can think. Will you take a look?
Hi Laura,
I messed with it for a bit but had the same issues. I cannot figure it out.
Might be another software 'fix' needed.
Hi Laura
the difference I can see is in the states tab of DnD 2 and 3
In the first DnD the Drag over state position is 0, 61
In the second and third it is 52, 61 - Try changing the 52 to 0 and see how you go.
Hi Philip,
Upon testing your file RecognizingRhabdoInteraction1.story, I couldn't replicate the issue.
Everything is working on my end.
I won't snap when you drag the item while the animation is still going on.
This is so great, Wendy! You have definitely found the problem. But I'm having trouble finding where those settings are. You say you are in the States tab of DnD 2 and 3 but for what object? Need some breadcrumbs, my friend!
Nevermind, I found it! And that was the problem. Thanks so much! You really are a HERO!! :)
Yay Laura - glad it was an easy fix for you- good luck with your project 😀
I had the same issue of items not dropping to center and adjusting both to be the same size worked for me as well!
Thank you!
Hi Alyssa, I am also experiencing this problem and have tried all suggestions mentioned in this thread. Would be happy if someone is able to help identify what's missing.
It appears that you did not assign the targets. Try this.
Hi, Learning.
As Glenda mentioned above (thank you, Glenda), you need to assign the drop targets, so Storyline knows where to "Snap to Center":
