HELP!! Can't publish my file to LMS

Jul 09, 2021

I can't my file to publish, I have Storyline 3.0 Update 12 - SL keeps throwing an error and crashing. Several of us have tried but couldn't publish it either. We have renamed it, done SAVE AS and made copies, moved it to her hard drive, changed the player....all to no avail.  I also created a new file and imported the contents into the new file.  It will publish to Word, but not LMS.

This is about 30 hrs worth of work.  Can anybody figure out a way that I might be able to get this to publish?

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for sharing what troubleshooting tips you've tried! From here, I'd like to enlist the help of our support engineers to take a closer look at your file and see what is causing the publish to fail.

You should receive an email with an upload link soon. Please share your .story file, and once we're done taking a look, we'll follow up with next steps!

Wendy, I would assume a corrupt object is causing this. Try deleting one half and publish. If it crashes, the problem is in that half. Then half it again and so on and on until you are left with one slide. Then try object by object until you find the one that is causing the problem. Delete the object and it should work.

I can take I quick look if you can share the file.

Hello.

We had the same issue after a windows update (WIndows 10)   - the crash happened when the software displayed "Cleaning up Temporay files" , the error was about the access was denied, or something like that

Try to publish to your system Temporay folder - the one you access to when you type  %TMP%  in the top bar of your file explorer.

It seems to be the only place where we can publish now. I rerouted this %TMP% to c:\Temp for easier use, - this is the only bypass we could find right now.
