Images and Text Boxes Hidden to Screen Reader

Mar 22, 2024

Hello,
We have a course that needs to be WCAG AA compliant. It is currently in our internal testing process and we are having some issues. We are using ANDI and JAWS to test. However, none of our images or text boxes are being shown to either program. ANDI shows all images are "aria hidden = true;"

We are using the default focus order for the majority of slides. We have ensured the images have appropriate alt text and are included in the focus order. The only slide elements we are able to reach are those with triggers on click-reveal slides.

Can you tell us how we can make informational slide elements revealed to the screen reader so our course will be compliant?

I tested slide 1.2 with NVDA and it works as in the focus order. You have to rest the down arrow to move to the next landmark and tab for interactive elements. You have a lot of stuff without alt text that probably needs removing from the focus order, also your decorative elements have alt text and I would remove.
