When you create animations on objects, the time defaults to .75 seconds. This is typically longer than I want a simple animation to go for and i usually drop it down to .50 seconds.
I was just wondering if there was a way to set the default time an animation starts at so I don't have to edit the duration every time i create a new animation?
Hi, Jackson -- To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to set a default time for the duration of your animations, but Kamil's suggestion sounds like it could save you some time. And of course, you are always welcome to share your thoughts with our Product Development team using this form.
One more request for this. I add objects all over the place, and have to go in and adjust them every time. The default value has to be registered somewhere as a preset variable. Allowing access to that variable in a settings menu shouldn't be too difficult.
While this feature hasn't made it on our feature roadmap yet, this discussion is connected to the report, so we'll be sure to notify you when we have news to share.

I suppose there is no this possibility. But instead change every time this value, you can copy and paste settings using animation painter.

Apologies for bumping this from 4 years ago, but just wondered if this is now possible in Storyline 360?
Is it possible to change the default animation timing to .50 seconds?
Hi Mark,
No apologies needed. The default still remains.
Entrance and exit animations default to a duration of 0.75 seconds. Motion paths default to 2 seconds. But you can make them faster or slower.
Just enter a time in the Duration field for the animation. The duration can be as fast as 0.1 second or as slow as 59 seconds.
There should be a way to set a desired default, rather than having to change it on Every. Element. on Every. Slide. It's tedious.
Thanks for adding your voice, Lisagail!

...And another, I change to 0.5 every time. 👍
Thanks. Another vote for this feature.
Shouldn't there be some editable configuration file where we can change the default from .75 to something else?

Add my voice to this as well. This is a standard feature that every other linear editor allows you to set a default for.

This Feature would be fantastic
