Matching Drag-and-Drop question formatting

We have some Matching Drag-and-Drop questions in an assessment for my course.

The Matching items are not filling the entire container, nor will they align to the left side of the container.  (If I try to resize the container to the size of the matching items, the matching items just shrink and still appear offset from the left side of the container.)

Any idea how to fix this from a design perspective?
