Misaligned text box in drag and drop interaction

Feb 02, 2023

Hello! I'm creating my first course in Storyline and have run across a problem I can't solve--- hoping someone here can help! One of my Knowledge Checks is a drag & drop interaction. When I view the interaction in "Preview," I've noticed some of the text boxes misalign as soon as they are dropped in the target.

I've tried changing the target settings (snap to middle, free, etc.) and the issue happens each time. (It's most visible on certain labels, such as "coban," "IV kit," and "pediatric ambu.")

Here's a Review 360 link to the interaction: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/d67d9ec8-4f9c-44f9-af6d-854db1d1905a/review

Thanks for any help you can offer!

It looks like whatever state you're using for dropped items is different than the items Normal state. For example, notice the strange borders for the Ped and Coban items. And the text for the IV Kit has a different alignment.

If the dropped state has different dimensions than the Normal state, that might be causing the problem.

I suggest you do this:

  • Verify that each draggable item (and all of its states) are the same size.
  • Make all the targets that size (or just slightly bigger).

If that doesn't solve the issue, upload a copy of the Storyline file, because that'll make it easier for someone to troubleshoot.
