I did a quick test using a basic shape and a motion path to see if I can observe the behavior you're seeing, but I didn't see the shape move backwards in the path in my test. Attached is the project file that I used for troubleshooting.
Would you be willing to make a Peek 360 recording of the behavior you're encountering so we can take a closer look at what's happening? Additionally, please share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can check how you are activating your motion paths. We'll delete it afterwards!
