My Storyline 3 hyperlinks don't work.

Nov 01, 2021

I uploaded a Storyline zip file for testing on Articulate Tempshare. Everything works perfectly except the hyperlinks. They either go to a blank page on the browser or else there are no live links when you hover over them on the page. I used hotspots for the links in my tables but they don't even show up as being live.

I've tried previewing in several browsers but the result is the same.

I'm using Storyline in Parallels on a Mac but that's never been a problem before.

File attached.

Hi, Sean.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your .story file!

They either go to a blank page on the browser or else there are no live links when you hover over them on the page.

I'm not sure what you mean by live links. Since you're using hotspots, and those don't have states, you won't have a hover state on your hyperlinks. I tested a few of your links after publishing, and they went to the correct sites.

If you type the URL on your browser directly, are you able to see the pages, or do you also see a blank page?

The only link that didn't work was on slide 1.9, but it appears to be missing the .org part of the URL on the text and the trigger:

Let me know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

Hello Maria,
Many thanks for taking the time to have a look at my file.

It was the hover state I was referring to. I never knew these doesn't show
with hotspots. However, when I click on them in the browser, nothing
happens.

The pages are visible when I type the URL directly in the browser and also
when I check the link in the trigger.

It looks as if it could be something local to do with my computer or
browser. I'll get a few more people to test it and see what happens.

Thanks again. It's much appreciated.

Seán.
