Numeric Entry Quiz Questions - total value (not quiz points) on final slide

Feb 01, 2022

Hi there,

I feel like I should know how to do this but is just not happening.  I have 10 quiz questions they are all the Numeric Entry quiz question type.  They do not have to pass so I am not tracking a point per correct answer so there is no results slide.  They will just be told at the end what the range should have been in and some additional information.  I thought prior to seeing that range in case they forget to keep track on paper, why not show them their score and then the right range.  I just can't figure out what I need to do trigger wise to have storyline add up the numbers the learner puts in the 10 questions and then how to reference that total on the last slide.  I have done it before with having a number total based on layers viewed but just not figuring this out.  Would appreciate any help.  The particular scene of the module is attached.  Thanks

Teresa,

I'm not clear on exactly how you want to report the total points. In the example below, the total points are added up from what the learner inputs into your numeric entry fields.   It also involves creating a new number variable called TotalScore in Storyline.

Let me know if this is what you were trying to accomplish.

Richard thank you so much!  This is what I was looking for.  I just wanted a total on the last slide of all the number of entry values the learner entered.  Then we have text that will appear after that gives them feedback.
As mentioned I did this once before totalling up number of layers selected in another module but my brain couldn’t translate it for the number entry boxes.

And thank you for the picture super helpful!!
