My client wants to take their eLearning and make it work on a mobile app that they're developing. Any thoughts on how I would export the story file? If anyone has experienced this and discovered a solution, I would love to know. The mobile app developers are clueless about how to make it work!

This depends on how your client's mobile app will function, and it will basically be one of two things.
If your client's mobile app will function as a mobile LMS, then publishing your course for LMS distribution would be the correct format.
If your client will only function as a web server, meaning it can only host HTML files, then publishing to web would be the correct one.
