Quiz trigger wizard 'reset results' on modern player

Apr 12, 2024

Hi all,

I am trying to make a multi-answer question 508 and user friendly using the multiple-choice quiz questions. I am running into the following issue I cannot seem to navigate around. I have 3 layers: base, correct, and try again. I want the quiz to reset upon hitting the "try again" button on my third layer. When I go to set up that trigger I choose "reset results" and then a drop-down shows that says, "e.g. Results Slide" and all that is populated in the dropdown is unassigned. I cannot type in anything here or figure out what I need to add to wipe the multiple choice clean and start again for the user. Without doing this reset, the previous answer is still marked when they return to the base layer to try again. Thank you in advance for your help.

The "Reset results" trigger is used to reset all of the graded questions associated with the specified Results slide.  It cannot be used to reset just one question.

Storyline's Graded Questions allow you to set the number of attempts.

If more than 1 attempt is allowed, Storyline has built-in programming to show the appropriate layer.

  • If the user answers incorrectly and they haven't used all of the attempts, Storyline automatically shows the Try Again layer. (Storyline automatically adds that layer when the Attempts field is >1.)
  • If the user answers incorrectly, and they have used all of the attempts, Storyline automatically shows the Incorrect layer.

The built-in Try Again function keeps the most recently chosen answers in the Selected state. If you want to clear the selections, add triggers to the Try Again button that change the state of all the response buttons to Normal. That would look something like this:
