Remove the play button from start of module.

Sep 16, 2021

Hi Guys,

How do you remove the play button function when the module starts on a slide which has automatic video playing.

Simply when the module loads it requires the user to click the play button for the module to begin. How do you remove this and allow the module to start straight away without having to click the play button?

Hi Sebbie,

This is a function of browser security and not Storyline directly. If any media is meant to play automatically, user input is required first. I tend to include a splash screen at the start of modules like this, and have the user click to advance to the first screen with media, so that the play button does not have to appear.

"Due to the new autoplay policies in some browsers, audio and video on the first slide of a course might not work. To fix this problem, we added a play button to Storyline and Studio courses that have audio or video introductions. By clicking the play button, learners give their browsers permission to play the media...Audio and video content on other slides in your course should play as expected. However, if your slides are set to advance automatically without any interaction, media might not work since learners haven't given their browsers permission to play it."
