Rise and Storyline blocks

Oct 27, 2021

Hello. We have developed a course in Rise, and used Storyline blocks for interactive question and answers. While Rise seems to be accessible using NVDA, the Storyline block does not seem to be. Does anything in particular have to be done in Storyline to be accessible, for example, all text/shape/speech bubbles have to have alt-text? I was under the impression this is not the case, but any further insight would be great! Thank you!

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Robin! ⭐️

You can navigate through both Rise 360 and Storyline 360 courses since NVDA is a supported screen reader. If the Storyline interaction itself is accessible, then it will still be accessible as a block in Rise 360.

Here's how keyboard navigation works with Storyline Blocks:

  • Use Tab and Shift+Tab to navigate Storyline interactions. A yellow box will appear around the selected object as you move through the content.
  • Press Enter or the spacebar to activate buttons and links, select answer choices, and interact with media.

I hope this helps! If you still have issues, please connect with us here so we can take a closer look!
