Sharing Storyline file or just SCORM with 3rd party vendor

Oct 04, 2023

I work with a 3rd party vendor who wraps and deploys the storyline files associated with our training into a SCORM file. Recently, the vendor asked me to provide them with ownership of the original storyline file which made me nervous. Am I overthinking? I'm curious what others think and whether they share my concerns.

Your 3rd party should be fine with output from SL when published to SCORM (vs Web). Storyline will create the necessary SCORM related files as part of publish. Choose to "Zip" things up from the publishing popup and you should be good to go. Use SCORM Cloud to verify your zip works inside "an LMS" and you are golden. Send the zip file to your 3rd party and you should be good to go. Absolutely no reason to provide the Storyline project source file
