Side-Bar Menu Out of Order

My slides are set up in scenes and in the right order, all things progress correctly when I preview the course. However, the side-bar has a completely different order, does not include all Section titles and seems to be tracking to how I built it rather than how it is organized in final form (I didn't create one after another, I created, I duplicated some slides and then edited, I moved things around, I ended up creating scenes to organize). How do I make sure the side-bar menu is reflecting the actual organization of the course like in my story view and how it previews (which again, is moving through in the correct order)? TYIA.

Hi, Lisa,

As you figured out, Storyline puts the built-in Menu together as you develop the course. That can sometimes cause issues when you build things out of order, duplicate slides, and/or re-arrange slides.

Fortunately, the fix is simple. 

  • Go to the Menu properties in the Player.
  • Click the Reset from story icon, with is in the lower right of the Menu panel.  That will re-build the Menu based on the current slides.

Note: The re-built Menu includes all slides in the course. And all scenes are used as section headings. The other buttons at the bottom of the panel allow you to edit the Menu. That includes deleting slides and/or section headings.
