Storyline Customized Closed Caption toggle button

Are there updated instructions for creating customized closed caption buttons that toggle captions on and off? This steps in the link below are a little dated. They're from 2017, and the storyline interface has changed quite a bit since then. When you get to the point where you create the trigger, the steps no longer work. In other words, the interface has changed so much that those particular steps no longer work.
