Submit Interaction Automatically Jumps to Next Slide

Mar 27, 2020

I'm finding that when I use a 'submit interaction' trigger this also automatically causes my presentation to jump to the next slide. I am using the built in survey questions, and need to be able to skip a question without providing feedback,

I've tried adding a 'jump to [not next slide]' trigger, but that didn't work either.

Any other way around this? I really need to be able to skip.

I'm late to the party here - but I've found that a submit interaction will automatically jump to the next slide if you do not have any 'Correct' or 'Incorrect' layers on your slide.

They are automatically inserted by default when you change your slide to a freeform interaction (such as drag and drop). You can obviously remove them if it's not what you want, the problem is that upon completing the interaction, the slide immediately jumps to the next slide.

To fix this, simply leave the 'Correct' and 'Incorrect ' layers as they are, but remove all the text boxes, background, button etc. so that they are completely clear.

You will of course then need to add in a way of your user navigating to the next slide (I tend to hide the SUBMIT button 'On Interaction' and replace with the NEXT button).

Hope this helps anyone else having a similar issue in the future.

I am not seeing the Require dropdown in the latest version. Is there another way to do this? I have a question in my quiz where the learner needs to select which job title they hold and their selection determines which version of the next question they get. I then want them to skip the other versions of the question that are for the other job titles and land on the final two questions. How can I accomplish this? Adding a trigger to jump to X slide when the user clicks submit is not working.

Thank you!
