We've been developing VR using WebXR and Sketchfab and inserting them into Storyline as web objects.
When we insert them into the slides the VR/AR switch buttons work when the setting is pop out in new window, but when it is inside the storyline window the buttons don't work.
Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like the web object works as expected when it’s opened in a new window, but it's not interactive if the web object stays in Storyline.
I'm not exactly sure what would cause this to behave differently, so from here, I'd recommend connecting with a support engineer.
